17th National Technical Innovation Award was won by 84 projects

On the evening of April 23, the 17th National Technical Innovation Award was given to outstanding research projects in Hanoi that have been applied in production, leading to high economic efficiency. The contest aims to recognize research projects and innovative solutions that promote creative labor, drive developments in science and technology, and contribute to economic growth.

The National Technical Innovation Contest is divided into six fields: Education and training, Agriculture, forestry, fishery, and environment, Mechanical automation, construction, traffic, Information technology, electronics, telecommunications, Medicine, and Materials, chemicals, energy. The winning projects were selected from 587 participating applications, with awards given to 6 first prize winners, 12 second prize winners, 24 third prize winners, and 42 consolation prize winners.

One of the first prize-winning projects was focused on improving the FO fuel export system in an oil refinery in Quang Ngai province, aiming to optimize operating conditions and increase the capacity of the workshop. Another winning project involved the design of shooting practice equipment for infantry training, utilizing laser technology and electromagnetic energy for realistic simulation.

In the field of medicine, a first prize was awarded to a project that applied diffusion magnetic resonance technique to survey nerve fiber bundles, providing valuable clinical information for neurosurgery planning. Other winning projects included solutions for smart home technology, production efficiency in shopping cart manufacturing, and environmental monitoring using remote sensing and GIS technology.

The winning projects were honored with certificates of merit and bonuses, with young authors receiving additional recognition from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The National Technical Innovation Contest has been held every two years since 1989, recognizing technical innovation initiatives from scientists, farmers, and workers across the country.
