2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony honors recipients at College of Public Health

Faculty and staff members at the College have been recognized for their dedication, innovation, and service to the institution’s mission and values. The 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony celebrated the achievements of 20 individuals on April 19. Awards were given to those who displayed excellence in teaching, research, leadership, and commitment to advancing the College of Public Health’s mission and values.

Dean Melissa Perry opened the ceremony by praising all faculty and staff for their outstanding work, noting how their accomplishments have contributed to the College’s success. She highlighted the impact of their hard work on the College’s evolution and improvement, which has been reflected in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Individuals from various departments including GCH, HAP, NUTR, SW, and Nursing, College-wide staff, and those who have received university-wide recognition were honored at the event. Awards were presented by Executive Director of Finance and Administration Lisa Joyner and Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Affairs Cathy Tompkins. They congratulated each winner personally and acknowledged their achievements in their respective categories.

Nominees for the awards were chosen by colleagues who submitted nominations to department chairs. The department chairs then made official nominations, and an ad hoc committee comprised of last year’s winners determined the recipients of the awards. Congratulations to all the faculty and staff members who were honored at the ceremony.
