The 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials took place at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The top two swimmers in each event have the opportunity to make the team for Paris individually, while the top six in the 100m and 200m freestyles can secure a spot on the team for relays, as long as the overall roster does not exceed 26 swimmers per gender.

In the Women’s 400m Freestyle, Katie Ledecky took first place with a time of 3:58.35, followed by Paige Madden in second with a time of 4:02.08. Other top finishers in the event included Jillian Cox, Kayla Han, Aurora Roghair, Anna Peplowski, Leah Smith, and Madi Mintenko.

The Men’s 400m Freestyle saw Aaron Shackell finishing first with a time of 3:45.46, closely followed by Kieran Smith in second with a time of 3:45.76. Other notable swimmers in the event included David Johnston, Bobby Finke, Luke Whitlock, Jake Magahey, Daniel Matheson, and Jake Mitchell.

The broadcast schedule for the trials includes the TYR Pro Swim Series in San Antonio. Swimmers like Caeleb Dressel, who is competing in his fourth Olympic Trials after taking a break from the sport, are finding joy in swimming again as they prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games.
