24 Paris-St-Denis | Olympic Games

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the Olympic champion and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, further solidified her dominance in the event by breaking her own world record at the US Trials in Eugene. She crossed the finish line in 50.65, a stunning achievement that saw her shave off 0.03 seconds from her previous record.

The race was one of the fastest in history, with four women finishing inside 53 seconds. Despite the fierce competition, McLaughlin-Levrone managed to win by nearly two seconds, showcasing her exceptional speed and skill on the track. From the moment the starting gun fired, she took control of the race, leading from start to finish and leaving her competitors in the dust.

By the halfway mark, McLaughlin-Levrone had already built a substantial lead over her closest rival, Anna Cockrell. She maintained her pace and power over the final 200m, ultimately crossing the finish line in record-breaking time. Cockrell finished in second place with a personal best of 52.64, followed closely by Jasmine Jones in third with 52.77.

This victory marks another milestone in McLaughlin-Levrone’s incredible career, as she continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the 400m hurdles. With multiple world records to her name, including four set at Hayward Field in Eugene, she has firmly established herself as one of the greatest athletes in the sport.

As the usual ratification procedure takes place, McLaughlin-Levrone’s latest world record is expected to be officially recognized, further cementing her legacy in track and field. Stay tuned for more updates on her remarkable achievements in the future.
