Tragedy struck in several Ukrainian strikes on Russian-controlled areas in eastern and southern Ukraine on Friday, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 people and dozens of injuries, according to occupation authorities. One of the strikes targeted the village of Sadové in the southern region of Kherson, where a store was destroyed by an aerial bomb followed by a Himars missile, resulting in 22 deaths and 15 injuries. The head of the Russian occupation in the region, Vladimir Saldo, condemned the attack as a “vile murder of civilians” facilitated by Western arms deliveries to kyiv.

Earlier on Friday, a US-made ATACMS missile strike in the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk, which is also under Russian control, led to the deaths of four people and injuries to 57 others. The strike caused the collapse of a multi-story apartment building according to the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry. In response to the attack, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that five American-made ATACMS missiles deliberately targeted residential areas in Luhansk.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported the capture of the village of Paraskoviïvka in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine on the same day. Russian troops have been making advances in the Donbass region for months, facing a Ukrainian army that lacks men and ammunition. Meanwhile, a 71-year-old woman was killed in a Russian strike in Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
