Michigan football has been dominating the recruiting trail, with commitments coming in at a rapid pace. It’s unusual for the Wolverines to go nearly a week without a new commitment, given how well they’ve been doing in recruiting.

One of the visitors to Ann Arbor in June was Julius Holly, a four-star edge rusher from Alpharetta, Georgia. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 230 pounds, Holly is a dual-sport athlete who also plays basketball in high school. He impressed with a verified 4.8 40-yard dash time, according to 247Sports.

Holly had been considering schools like Georgia, Stanford, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, but ultimately decided to commit to Michigan football on Saturday. He is rated as the 430th overall prospect and the 12th best edge rusher according to the 247Sports Composite.

With Holly’s commitment, Michigan now has 13 total commitments in their recruiting class, with Holly being the first edge rusher. The Wolverines have 10 four-star commits and three three-star commits in their class.

Despite other big offers from schools like Oklahoma, Penn State, and Tennessee, Holly ultimately chose Michigan over Georgia, who was considered the favorite until shortly before his commitment. The Wolverines are continuing to make waves in the recruiting world, adding top talent to their roster.
