5 beverages that can lower liver enzyme levels

Coffee, artichokes, black bean juice, and citrus fruit juice are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that can help lower liver enzymes. High liver enzymes can indicate abnormal liver function and damaged liver cells, potentially leading to serious conditions like hepatitis and cirrhosis. Coffee contains caffeine and polyphenol compounds that can reduce fat accumulation in the liver, decrease inflammation, and prevent cirrhosis. Consuming 700 ml of coffee per day has been shown to lower the concentration of liver enzymes AST, ALP, and GGT, improving the condition of high liver enzymes. It is important for those sensitive to caffeine to use it as directed by a healthcare professional.

Artichokes are rich in natural antioxidants that help reduce cholesterol levels in the liver, support inflammation, and lower liver enzymes. Drinking artichoke tea can also increase levels of glutathione peroxidase, a powerful antioxidant produced in the liver that helps fight inflammation and lower liver enzymes.

Black bean juice is high in polyphenols and flavonoids, which protect the liver from oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and lower liver enzymes. It helps regulate fatty acid and lipogenic oxidation genes, inhibits fat accumulation, and provides vegetable protein and fiber to help regenerate liver cells and enhance beneficial intestinal bacteria.
