A retirement home chain in Italy recently broke a Guinness World Record by hosting a gathering of 70 centenarians at their annual event. The Fondazione Opera Immacolata, which operates several retirement homes, has been organizing gatherings of centenarians for about 15 years. This year’s event in Padua saw a significant increase in attendance.
To ensure that the record was official, a Guinness World Records adjudicator was present at the event. The 70 people in attendance had all surpassed their 100th birthdays. This broke the previous record set in Australia in 2016, which had 45 centenarians in attendance.
The event was a celebration of longevity and life, bringing together a group of individuals who have lived through significant historical events and changes. It was a special opportunity for these centenarians to come together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company.
Overall, the annual gathering of centenarians organized by the Fondazione Opera Immacolata has become a cherished tradition. It highlights the importance of celebrating and honoring older members of society, as well as recognizing their wisdom and experiences.
