An 80-year-old American woman was attacked by an elephant while on a car safari in Zambia. The woman, along with five other tourists, was chased by the elephant for hundreds of meters until the driver had to stop the vehicle due to a road blockade.

The incident occurred in the Kafue National Park in Zambia last weekend. The elephant, which had become separated from its herd, unexpectedly started chasing the tourists as they were guided through the park. One of the tourists in the car caught the chase on film before the driver had to stop the vehicle due to a road block caused by vegetation.

The elephant managed to tip the vehicle over with its tusks, resulting in the death of the 80-year-old woman and serious injuries to another tourist who had to be evacuated to a hospital in South Africa. The other tourists sustained minor injuries and are receiving trauma counseling.

The CEO of the company that organized the safari expressed condolences to the deceased woman’s family and provided support to the other tourists and the guide involved in the incident. The shocking images of the incident have been circulating on social media.

The safari company aims to investigate the incident further and work towards preventing similar occurrences in the future, ensuring the safety of all tourists on their safari tours.
