Embarking on a journey through the picturesque Itria Valley felt much like a school trip for a group of esteemed guests, including first ladies and one lone man. A sumptuous lunch awaited the travelers at a restaurant nestled in a former ancient oil mill, serving up a delectable array of local delicacies. The menu boasted dishes like tops, burrata, bread gnocchi, Primitivo fillet, and the decadent dessert, dirty muso.
Lastly, the group traveled to Martina Franca, where they were greeted by the mayor and explored the grandeur of Palazzo Ducale. The historic building, dating back to 1668, showcased intricate frescoes by Domenico Carella, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich artistic heritage. The day’s journey through the Itria Valley left a lasting impression on the guests, sparking newfound appreciation for Puglia’s cultural and artistic treasures.
