A Machine was Installed by the Supermarket to Collect Cans

Many consumers were pleasantly surprised when they discovered that they could use cans and bottles at supermarkets to earn points by putting them into collection machines. Ms. Oanh, from Binh Tan district, was introduced to the can and bottle collection system at Go! An Lac supermarket and found it to be a meaningful way to raise awareness about environmental protection.

Not only Ms. Oanh, but many other consumers also enjoy the experience of scanning QR codes to earn points when putting cans and bottles into the collection machine. Statistics from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reveal that approximately 1.8 million tons of plastic waste are discharged into the environment each year.

In an effort to move Vietnam towards carbon neutrality by 2050, many businesses are focusing on environmental sustainability. Central Retail Vietnam, for example, has placed collection machines for cans and bottles at their supermarkets, which have received positive feedback from customers.

The collection machines automatically clean and crush cans and bottles for recycling, reducing CO2 emissions and energy consumption. Central Retail has collected a significant amount of aluminum cans and plastic bottles since the beginning of the year, and plans to expand the program to cover all their supermarkets nationwide.

Sparklo, a company specializing in recycling systems, has chosen Vietnam as the first country to install their recycling waste collection system. This initiative will contribute to increasing the value of waste collection in the country and promoting a green, beautiful, and sustainable environment.

Vietcycle Joint Stock Company, a nationwide waste collection enterprise, plans to double their recycled waste collection this year compared to last year. They emphasize the importance of recycling becoming a part of daily life in order to ensure a sustainable environment.
