A man shoots 30 bullets from gun at American water park, injuring 10

A shooting at a water park near Detroit left more than 10 people wounded, including children, on Saturday night, as characterized by the police as a random incident. The suspect was still on the run late Saturday, but authorities believed he was cornered at a nearby home. A gun was found at the scene of the shooting by the police.

The shooting took place at Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where a man fired about 30 shots from a semi-automatic Glock caliber 9 mm around 5 pm local time. The gunman reloaded the gun multiple times during the incident, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

Initial reports did not confirm any fatalities, although police had previously stated that five people were killed in the shooting. Rochester Hills is located approximately 50 kilometers north of Detroit and is known for being near Oxford Township, where a tragic school shooting took place in 2021 at Oxford High School, leading to the death of four students and injuries to six others.
