Yann Morin, a 25-year-old entrepreneur, runs a small company from his parents’ garage in Brest, France. He specializes in repairing, improving, assembling, and building batteries for soft mobility devices like scooters, motorcycles, and drones. Working alongside his colleague François Ramsayer, they currently produce around 80 batteries per month, in addition to providing repair services and improvements to existing systems for various companies.
Morin, a DIY enthusiast since his youth, built his own electric motorcycle from scratch in his family’s workshop while still in school. After attending an engineering school where he felt he lacked practical experience, he focused on perfecting battery systems to increase autonomy and longevity. His company, Batterie Lithium Conception, has gained traction over the past two years, serving clients all across France with an annual turnover exceeding 120,000 euros.
Morin and Ramsayer have developed two models of batteries for motorcycles and two for scooters that are unique to their company in France. With plans to expand their team and operations, Morin is on the brink of moving out of the garage to accommodate the growing demand for their specialized services.
