Klay Thompson, a long-time player for the Golden State Warriors, is not expected to re-sign with the team when NBA free agency begins on Sunday, according to a report from The Athletic. Thompson has been with the Warriors since the start of his NBA career in 2011, when he was drafted as the No. 11 overall pick in the first round. In his 11 seasons with the team, Thompson won four championships and was selected as an All-Star five times, with his most recent selection in 2019.

In 2019, the Warriors signed Thompson to a five-year, $189.9 million dollar deal after he suffered a torn ACL in the NBA Finals earlier that year. Unfortunately, Thompson missed the next two seasons due to injury. During his last season, Thompson averaged 17.9 points per game in 77 appearances, with 14 of those appearances coming off the bench. This season was the first time Thompson had come off the bench since his rookie year in the NBA.
