Addition of David Iacono to Cast of Latest ‘Jurassic World’ Film

David Iacono has been confirmed to join Scarlett Johansson in Universal’s upcoming Jurassic World movie. The ensemble cast also includes Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, and Luna Blaise. Production will begin in mid-June in London, with Gareth Edwards directing the film.

Iacono recently appeared in Jennifer Esposito’s directorial debut, Fresh Kills. He also starred in Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives and Amazon Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty. Other recent credits include Tubi and Village Roadshow’s thriller Cinnamon, as well as playing Eli Briscoe in HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant.

His television credits include appearances in Blue Bloods, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, Strangers, NCIS: New Orleans, The Blacklist: Redemption, and Show Me a Hero. The movie’s storyline has been kept under wraps, but it is expected to feature dinosaurs and a new plot. David Koepp, the original screenwriter of Jurassic Park, is writing the screenplay.

The film is set to be released on July 2, 2025, and is executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment. The movie will be produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley through Kennedy-Marshall. The untitled Jurassic Park movie follows the six previous films in the franchise, which collectively earned over $6 billion worldwide.

Universal’s executive vp of production development, Sara Scott, and creative executive of production development, Jacqueline Garell, will oversee the project. Iacono is represented by Rebel Creative Group, Take 3 Talent Agency, Vainshtein Law, P.C., and imPRint.
