Burke County Public Health, in partnership with national research firm PRC, is encouraging more residents to participate in the Community Health Assessment (CHA) survey. The survey is designed to gather information about residents’ health, behaviors, and experiences in a confidential manner. Randomly selected households will receive a call from “WNC Health” to participate in the survey, which is expected to take about 20 minutes to complete.

Burke County is one of 18 counties in western North Carolina taking part in this health assessment initiative. The survey addresses a wide range of health-related factors, including demographics, socioeconomics, health status, disparities, behaviors, clinical care, physical environment, and quality of life. The data collected will be crucial in helping Public Health prioritize and address health challenges in the community over the next three years.

Funding for this data collection effort comes from a grant provided by Dogwood Health Trust, in partnership with WNC Healthy Impact. The information gathered during this survey will contribute to the 2025 Burke County Community Health Assessment, guiding future health initiatives in the region. Residents are encouraged to participate in the survey to help shape public health strategies and improve the overall well-being of the community.
