Adobe has introduced the Generative Remove tool in Lightroom, utilizing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) from its Adobe Firefly model. This tool allows users to easily remove objects and people from images with just a single click and automatically generate a realistic replacement background. The company is constantly updating features related to its Firefly family of generative AI models to enhance the image editing experience within the Lightroom software.

The Generative Remove tool in Lightroom offers the capability to remove unwanted objects from photographs in a non-destructive manner. After removing the object, the tool generates pixels that recompose the image, creating a seamless background. This tool is particularly useful for tasks like removing distractions in family photos or providing professionals with faster retouching workflows.

With just a click, the Generative Remove tool intelligently erases unwanted objects in images and produces realistic and high-quality results by matching the removed area with pixel-perfect generations. This tool can be used for editing backgrounds in complex images or environments, such as removing stains on clothing or unwanted reflections.

Users can select the unwanted objects by painting over the parts of the image they want to remove, and by selecting the delete option, Lightroom will automatically generate a realistic background to replace the removed object. Generative Remove is available as an early access feature for users across Lightroom’s mobile, web, and desktop interfaces.

In addition to the Generative Remove tool, Adobe has also introduced new features in Lightroom to make photo editing faster and easier on any device. Features like Lens Blur, HDR optimization, and a new mobile editing experience offer users more tools and flexibility in enhancing their images. These updates aim to provide a more seamless editing experience for photographers and creative professionals.
