The Karrigan Cafe, located in downtown Saline, Michigan, is now available for sale to interested buyers. Owners Karen and her girlfriend Jason Carrigan have decided to sell the business after running it successfully for nine years. They initially opened the coffee shop in September 2014 in the city’s former My Her Favorite Cafe space, and it has become known as a place where people can connect seven days a week for coffee, breakfast, and sandwiches.
Karen and Jason made the decision to sell the cafe after they moved to Georgia in December 2020. Karen has been traveling back and forth for work, but she is now ready to join her husband full-time and focus more on her own work as a shuttle driver for her service company. The 1,888-square-foot cafe, which has 40 seats, is on sale for $140,000. Karen plans to keep the business running until new owners take over and has already received interest from potential buyers.
The cafe has strong relationships with its suppliers, including Plymouth-based coffee supplier Coffee Express, and Karen hopes that these relationships can continue under the new ownership. She also hopes that the next owner can make some changes to improve the business further. The cafe has a loyal customer base, with Karen referring to every customer as “friends and family” and thanking them for their support over the years.
Karen has built strong relationships within the Saline community, including with Saline Main Street and surrounding businesses. She referred to Saline as an “extended family” and expressed her love for everyone who has walked through the cafe’s doors. Karen is optimistic about the future of the Karrigan Cafe and hopes it will continue to be a place for families and children to gather and have a good time together.
