Connor Williams has established himself as one of the top centers in the NFL over the past few years. Starting his career as a guard with the Dallas Cowboys, Williams then signed with the Miami Dolphins and transitioned to center. His athleticism helped boost Miami’s run game to one of the best in the league in 2023. However, injuries plagued Williams throughout the season, culminating in a torn ACL in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans.

The complex ACL tear was believed to keep Williams out of training camp and possibly the start of the 2024 season. However, his agent Drew Rosenhaus announced that Williams’ recovery has surpassed expectations and he should be ready for the start of the season. Despite being a free agent, Williams could potentially return to the Dolphins, but it’s uncertain given the recent signing of Aaron Brewer.

Williams is likely to have several suitors in the offseason if he can prove his health and readiness to play. Although he may not be at full strength, Williams has the potential to be an average or better starting center, with room for improvement. A one-year contract could allow him to showcase his abilities for a larger deal in the following offseason.
