Sportradar, a sports technology company, conducted a series of AI-driven data simulations to predict the winner of the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament set to take place on July 14. Among the 51 matches simulated, England emerged as the most likely team to win, with a 24% probability according to Sportradar’s AI technology. This prediction puts England ahead of France and Germany in terms of chances of winning the championship title.
By conducting 10,000 simulations for each match and leveraging data from 900 sportsbook operators, Sportradar was able to input tens of thousands of data points into its AI algorithm. This allowed for a deep analysis of historical data and the ability to anticipate different outcomes within the confines of the tournament regulations for UEFA Euro 2024.
In addition to predicting England as the potential winner, Sportradar’s AI simulations also identified France’s Kylian Mbappe as the player most likely to win the Golden Boot award for being the top goal scorer in the tournament. Out of 10,000 simulations, Mbappe was selected as the top goal scorer 1,519 times, just slightly edging out England’s Harry Kane who was chosen 1,477 times.
Sportradar’s AI technology also highlighted English players Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden as potential players to watch during the tournament, being identified 453 and 288 times, respectively, in the simulations.
