Following the game between the Chicago Sky and the Las Vegas Aces, WNBA star A’ja Wilson had high praise for Sky rookie Angel Reese. Wilson, the 2023 Finals MVP, commended Reese for her speed and determination on the court, noting her strong effort to secure rebounds and possessions.

Reese has been a standout player for the Sky, showcasing an impressive 11.1 rebounds per game, just behind Wilson’s 11.3 rpg rate. If Reese maintains her current pace, she is on track to break the all-time WNBA record for offensive rebounds in a single season, currently held by Yolanda Griffith with 162 in 2001. With 76 offensive rebounds in 16 games, Reese is projected to surpass this record with 190 offensive rebounds this year.

In addition to her rebounding prowess, Reese has already made her mark in the league by setting and tying WNBA records. She recently became the first rookie to achieve a double-double in seven consecutive games, and extended this streak to nine games following the matchup against the Aces. This accomplishment tied a single-season record set by Candace Parker in 2015.

Despite the loss to the Aces, Wilson acknowledged the competitive spirit of the Sky team as a whole, admiring their resilience and tenacity on the court. She praised their ability to challenge opponents and keep the pressure on throughout the game. The Sky, now 6-10 on the season, will look to bounce back as they prepare to face the Minnesota Lynx in their next game on Sunday.
