Celeros Flow Technology (Celeros FT) is playing a role in the decarbonization of offshore oil and gas operations in the North Sea. They have secured a contract to provide two new water injection packages for the AKER/OKEA power from shore project off the coast of Norway. This includes electric motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs) to replace the gas turbine-driven units, utilizing Norway’s renewable electricity resources to reduce carbon footprint. The contract will be fulfilled by Celeros FT’s ClydeUnion Pumps brand, with the skidded packages being assembled at their main site in Glasgow.

Tommy Kassem, CCO of Celeros FT, emphasized the importance of decarbonizing the global energy supply chain in order to combat climate change and create a cleaner future. The company is prepared to support operators in transitioning to greener energy sources. The Draugen platform, located approximately 145 km off the coast of Norway, is being upgraded with an electrical power supply from a new substation onshore. The project, led by Aker Solutions, aims to replace both the main power and water injection pump turbines with electric options, expected to be completed in 2026 with an estimated CO2 savings of up to 200,000 tpy.

This article falls under the category of North Sea oil news, highlighting the efforts of companies like Celeros FT in transitioning to cleaner energy solutions in offshore operations.
