On Tuesday evening, the Alabama Crimson Tide received positive news on the recruiting trail with the commitment of 2025 three-star interior offensive lineman Mal Waldrep. Waldrep is the second offensive lineman to commit to Alabama in as many days, with the other being 2025 four-star Michael Carroll. Waldrep made his decision following an official visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend, choosing Alabama over programs like Auburn, Clemson, and Tennessee.
At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, Waldrep is expected to play the guard position at the college level, as recruited by the Alabama coaching staff. Hailing from Central-Phenix City High School in Alabama, Waldrep has the opportunity to compete for early playing time with Alabama likely losing both of its guards to the 2025 NFL draft. His commitment helps bolster Alabama’s offensive line haul for the 2025 recruiting class.
