Legendary head coach Nick Saban was highly regarded for his expertise in coaching up the defensive side of the game, particularly the secondary. The new head coach, Kalen DeBoer, comes from an offensive coaching background but has assembled a coaching staff and roster that can maintain the standard of a physically imposing defense for the Crimson Tide.
EA Sports recently revealed rankings and grades for the top 25 teams on offense and defense in their upcoming video game, EA Sports College Football 25. Alabama’s offense is ranked slightly higher than their defense, but the team still sits in the top five for both categories. On defense, Alabama has an overall ranking of 90, placing them at No. 4 behind Ohio State, Georgia, and Oregon.
