An American tourist tragically lost his life from electrocution while in a hot tub at a resort in Mexico. The 43-year-old man was accompanied by a woman who sustained severe injuries and was flown to the United States for treatment. The incident took place at a private condominium complex in Puerto Penasco, a resort town in the Mexican state of Sonora.

According to a post on social media by the Attorney General of Justice of Sonora, both individuals were affected by a potential electric discharge while inside the hot tub. The man passed away from the incident while the woman was taken for medical care due to the seriousness of her injuries.
