Rochester Americans general manager Jason Karmanos held an introductory press conference on Monday for the organization’s 34th head coach, Michael Leone. Leone was announced as the team’s new coach last Thursday. Karmanos discussed the extensive search process that led to Leone’s selection, starting with a pool of 100 candidates that was narrowed down to 25 and eventually to a final five. He expressed his excitement for Leone, stating that he believes Leone is the right person for the job. Karmanos highlighted Leone’s ability to build relationships and the positive impact he has had on those he has worked with in the hockey community.

Leone, who previously served as the head coach and general manager of the Green Bay Gamblers, emphasized the importance of getting to know the players on a personal level before diving into the game plan. He stressed the significance of building relationships with the modern-day athlete and described his approach to player development as being relationship-based. Leone expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the success he had in Green Bay with the Amerks in Rochester.

While the schedule for the upcoming season is still being finalized, fans can secure their seats by purchasing season tickets, which are now on sale. Season ticket prices range from $17 to $38 per game, offering fans a chance to support the team throughout the season.
