Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has been making history in the WNBA, recently becoming the first player to record a double-double in 10 consecutive games in a single season. In a recent game against the Minnesota Lynx, Reese pulled down 16 rebounds and scored the two points needed to achieve this milestone. She surpassed the previous record of nine games held by Candace Parker, a former Sky player and two-time WNBA MVP.

Reese previously set a record as the first rookie to have a double-double in seven straight games in a win against the Dallas Wings on June 20. The 22-year-old’s remarkable performance led to her being named BET’s Sportswoman of the Year later in the same day. Despite Reese’s impressive efforts, the Sky suffered a defeat against the Lynx, bringing their record to 6-11 for the season.

Chicago head coach Teresa Weatherspoon commended Reese’s resilience and performance, highlighting her hard work and dedication to the game. The Sky had a tough fourth quarter, only scoring five points as the Lynx surged ahead for the win. Kayla McBride led the Lynx in scoring with 16 points, while Chennedy Carter led Chicago with 15 points. Lindsay Allen, Marina Mabrey, and Reese also contributed double-figure scoring.

Overall, it was a challenging game for the Sky offensively, shooting just 30.5% from the floor. Despite the loss, coach Weatherspoon expressed pride in Reese’s accomplishments and dedication to the team.
