The Kennebunk Port Arundel Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual dinner at the Kennebunk Savings Operations Center in West Kennebunk. However, due to bad weather, the location was changed at the last minute. The Chamber expressed their gratitude to Kennebunk Savings for providing an alternative venue on such short notice.
Originally, the event was planned to take place at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, but the decision was made to move it indoors due to the inclement weather. Despite the change, the dinner was a success thanks to the efforts of Sharp Events and their seamless coordination of the logistics. Wallingford Farm also received thanks for providing beautiful flowers that enhanced the ambiance of the event, and Video Creations was recognized for their professional and inspiring video package.
The evening featured the recognition of 100 winners in the Drive to Be the Best categories, ranging from Best Breakfast Place to Best Bank, as well as ten major award winners. New board members were also welcomed, while outgoing board members were thanked for their service. The chamber also recognized Alison’s Restaurant for their 50th anniversary.
The final award of the night was the Joel Stevens Community Spirit Award, which was presented to Brad Page, President of Kennebunk Savings Bank, for his work in creating a recovery-friendly workplace and treating substance abuse disorders. The Chamber also expressed their gratitude to all of the event sponsors for their support.
The annual awards recognized various individuals and businesses who have made significant contributions to the community. Categories included the Driven Woman Award, Business of the Year Award, President’s Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, Nonprofit of the Year Award, Local Government Employee of the Year Award, Outstanding Achievement Award, Rising Star Award, and the Joel Stevens Community Spirit Award.
The event also included the announcement of winners in the Drive to Be the Best categories, which covered a wide range of businesses and activities in the Kennebunks. From breakfast spots and coffee shops to outdoor dining spots and attractions, the Drive to Be the Best winners showcased the diversity and excellence of the local area.
Overall, the annual dinner was a successful and memorable event, highlighting the accomplishments and contributions of individuals and businesses in the Kennebunk area.
