Marine Park JHS 278 hosted their Annual Science Fair on May 30th at 1925 Stuart Street. The event featured a variety of projects in categories such as Artificial Intelligence, Fossil Identification, Race Cars, Hydroponics, Terrestrial Rovers, and Microscopics.
Assistant Principal Laura Scarfogliero praised the students for their impressive projects and stations that showcased topics ranging from living environments to sustainability. Jason Goldberg, the 7th grade science and hydroponics teacher, highlighted the school’s partnership with NASA, which provided a rover for the students to use in collecting real-time data for scientific research.
During the fair, students used a remote control to operate the rover around Marine Park, collecting samples of air and surface temperatures. The event was a great success, with over 25 projects presented by more than 50 students.
