The famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava visited Haifa port this week as part of a project to renovate the coastline. According to the Ice portal, Calatrava will develop two buildings that should become the new calling cards of Haifa – a unique floating maritime museum and a concert hall. Calatrava’s work on developing the projects will be financed by a Jewish billionaire from the United States, who does not want to reveal his identity.

It should be noted that this will not be Calatrava’s first project in Israel. He is the author of the string bridge in Jerusalem and the same pedestrian bridge in Petah Tikva, as well as a kinetic composition in the Technion in Haifa. The projects in Haifa are expected to add to his impressive portfolio of work in the country.
