The STAR program, which stands for Spaceflight Technology, Applications and Research, is currently accepting applications for its next cohort of space biology researchers until June 28. This virtual NASA training program is designed for Principal Investigators, senior research scientists, and post-doctoral scholars who are interested in conducting biology experiments in space using NASA commercial platforms.

The program aims to facilitate the entry of researchers into space biology and spaceflight studies. It provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct experiments in space, covering topics such as fundamental space biology, technical and logistical considerations, opportunities, and the advantages and limitations of conducting experiments in space.

Participants in the STAR program have the opportunity to interact with PIs who have prior mission experience, developers of spaceflight technology, and flight providers. The course curriculum is designed to prepare researchers for conducting successful space biology experiments and to equip them with the tools they need to thrive in this unique research environment.

Examples of recent space biology flight projects include work in astrobiology, exploration of space biology, and experiments conducted by researchers with various backgrounds and expertise. The STAR program offers a unique opportunity for researchers to expand their knowledge and skills in space biology and to contribute to cutting-edge research in this field. Apply online today to join the next cohort of space biology researchers.
