Approval pending for new Henderson sports complex with $70 million investment

The City of Henderson in Nevada has announced plans for a new state-of-the-art indoor sports complex in the west area of the city. The complex is set to be approved at a city council meeting on July 2nd and will be located behind Chicken N Pickle. Construction is currently underway at the southeast corner of St. Rose and Maryland parkways.

The planned indoor sports complex will cover 180,000 square feet over two levels. It will feature basketball courts that can be converted for other sports like volleyball and pickleball, as well as hybrid turf fields for sports such as indoor soccer, box lacrosse, and indoor football. The facility will also include birthday party and community rooms, along with family entertainment options like bowling, laser tag, arcade games, miniature golf, and a restaurant and bar.

Henderson City Manager and CEO Richard Derrick expressed pride in the city’s ability to form public-private partnerships for the benefit of residents. The indoor sports complex is seen as a valuable addition to the community, following the successes of other projects like the America First Center and Lee’s Family Forum.

KemperSports senior vice president Steve Goris highlighted the partnership between his company and the City of Henderson in bringing the innovative sports complex to life. The $70 million investment for the facility is being provided by a private third-party partner and one-time funding sources. The goal is to create a community asset for local residents and a destination for youth sports families.

The new sports complex is anticipated to be a popular attraction in Henderson, providing a space for both competitive sports and recreational activities. The project is expected to enhance the city’s reputation as a hub for sports and entertainment.
