Archbishop Bagrat strongly condemned the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia regarding the readiness to sign a peace treaty within a month. He emphasized that this proposed treaty does not promote peace but rather threatens the existence and identity of Armenians. The Archbishop criticized the agreement for not resolving any issues, allowing Azerbaijani forces to remain on Armenian territories and validating the enemy’s achievements. He characterized the treaty as a document of unilateral concessions that undermine Armenian statehood, sovereignty, and identity.

The rally organized by the “Tavush for the Salvation of the Motherland” opposition movement commenced in Yerevan’s Republic Square with Archbishop Bagrat leading the event. The movement, which began with a march from Kirants to Yerevan, demands the resignation of the authorities. The gathering was delayed by 40 minutes before Archbishop Bagrat addressed the attendees. Lawyer Ruben Melikyan also spoke at the rally, highlighting police brutality against protesters and the persecution of individuals based on their political views.

The rally marks the final stage of the movement, with Archbishop Bagrat and other leaders reiterating their call for the resignation of the government. The event included speeches denouncing the current political situation in Armenia and awarding a red beret as a symbol of activism and advocacy for human rights. The movement, in its persistence for change, continues to demand accountability from the authorities and stands in solidarity against oppression and injustice.
