Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and owner of X (Twitter), has made comments about local politics in Argentina. In response to a tweet celebrating Milei’s victory with the Gadsden flag, an icon of libertarian thought, Musk wrote that it was a “very interesting talk that goes far beyond Argentina in the topics discussed.” This isn’t the first time Musk has commented on local politics. In September, he spoke about Tucker Carlson’s interview with Milei, which he considered “interesting”, and weeks before, he tweeted in the same sense.
Musk wasn’t the only international figure to comment on Milei. Kim Dotcom, founder of Megaupload, also tweeted about the issue with a video by Javier Milei. Similarly, the founder of Mercado Libre, Marcos Galperín, tweeted and responded to a councilor with a chicane, after which he tweeted an image with a single word: “Free.”
After Sergio Massa acknowledged defeat and the consecration of Javier Milei as president, Galperín tweeted “Free” and also responded to a chicane from an official. The presidential candidate of Unión por la Patria (UxP), Sergio Massa, recognized his defeat and said that he will transition on December 10, stating that it was a difficult campaign and hoping that the tension in Argentina will be abandoned.
He also emphasized that starting tomorrow, the responsibility and task of providing certainty and transmitting guarantees about the political, social, and economic functioning of Argentina is the responsibility of the elected president. He also stressed that he greeted Milei because “the most important thing we have to leave to Argentines is the message of coexistence, dialogue, and respect for peace“.
