Arizona State’s athletic department had a multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) average of 994 from 2019-2023, according to the NCAA. This number is the best in the Pac-12 for the third consecutive year. In the 2022-2023 school year, 15 out of 23 sports at Arizona State received perfect APR scores of 1000. Additionally, six teams maintained streaks of perfect multiyear scores, with men’s golf having the longest streak at ten in a row, followed by women’s golf and gymnastics with eight straight.

Newly-appointed athletic director Graham Rossini praised Andrea Lore and her staff for their efforts in making Arizona State the best in academic achievement. Eleven teams within the Pac-12 were in first place for their APR multiyear averages, with ten teams achieving a perfect 1000 APR score. Andrea Lore, associate AD for academic and student development, commended the student-athletes for their academic achievements, including a 93% graduation success rate and 85% of students finishing the spring semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

ASU’s average APR for all sports has steadily increased from 937 in 2003 to 994 currently. The national multiyear APR score for NCAA Division I programs is 984. This growth reflects the commitment of the student-athletes, staff, and faculty to academic excellence. Lore emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive support to student-athletes in academics, sports, and life. The full NCAA release can be found here.
