Assen: Updated MotoGP World Championship Standings for 2024

Following Marc Marquez’s 16-second post-race time penalty for low tyre pressure at the Dutch Grand Prix, the Gresini rider was demoted from 4th to 10th place. This penalty had significant implications on the updated 2024 MotoGP World Championship standings.

At the top of the standings, Jorge Martin from Pramac Ducati retained his lead with 200 points. He was followed closely by Francesco Bagnaia from Ducati Lenovo, who held the second position with 190 points, trailing behind by 10 points. Despite the penalty, Marquez was able to maintain the third spot with 142 points, although he now sat 58 points adrift of the leader.

Enea Bastianini, Maverick Viñales, Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, Fabio di Giannantonio, Aleix Espargaro, and Alex Marquez rounded out the top 10 in the standings. Riders like Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Quartararo, Jack Miller, Miguel Oliveira, Augusto Fernandez, Joan Mir, Johann Zarco, Alex Rins, Takaaki Nakagami, and Daniel Pedrosa followed closely behind.

It is worth noting that Pedro Acosta was a rookie rider making an impressive debut at the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team. The standings reflected the changes in positions from the previous race, with some riders improving their rankings while others dropped positions. The competition in the 2024 MotoGP World Championship remained fierce as riders vied for the top spots in the standings.
