Astros manager Joe Espada stated that Tucker’s recovery is not progressing as quickly as anticipated, prompting the decision to place him on the injured list to ensure he fully heals before returning to play.
Tucker’s placement on the IL is retroactive to Tuesday, meaning he could potentially return to the team on June 14 for a series against the Detroit Tigers. At the time of his injury, Tucker ranked highly in several statistical categories in the MLB, showcasing his importance to the Astros lineup.
Unfortunately, Tucker’s injury is just one of many setbacks the Astros have faced this season.
