Reports have surfaced that Atalanta has made a bid for Everton defender Ben Godfrey. The Europa League champions have reportedly offered around €10m for the player. However, this bid falls short of Everton’s valuation of €15m, which has been reportedly made by another interested club in Godfrey.
Ben Godfrey is set to enter the final year of his contract at Goodison Park in the coming month, raising questions about his future at the club. The 23-year-old centre-back has been a key player for Everton since his arrival from Norwich City in October 2020, making a total of 93 appearances in all competitions.
With interest from other clubs and his contract situation in mind, Everton will need to carefully consider their next steps regarding Godfrey’s future with the team. It remains to be seen whether a deal will be reached with Atalanta or if Godfrey will stay at Goodison Park for the upcoming season.
