Attracting Top Tennis Talent: The Second Annual Florida Sports Coast Open

Tennis professionals from all over the world have gathered in Pasco County this weekend for a special tournament, the second annual Florida Sports Coast Open hosted by the Sarah Vande Berg Tennis & Wellness Center. Last year’s tournament was the first of its kind at the SVB Center, and the Chief Executive, Pascal Collard, expressed hope that it would lead to bigger opportunities. This year, that hope has become a reality.

The Florida Sports Coast Open is a $75,000 International Tennis Federation Women’s pro circuit event, featuring $60,000 in prize money. This tournament also marks the comeback of pro tennis player Eugenie Bouchard, a former world no. 5-rated singles player and past Wimbledon singles finalist. Bouchard has accepted a wildcard spot in the tournament and is eager to compete against tough competition for big points and prize money.

In addition to Bouchard, other high-ranked players such as no. 86-ranked Kayla Day and no. 164-ranked Ann Li are also competing in the tournament. Collard believes that the presence of these top players will attract a large number of spectators to witness the high-level competition firsthand. The community is invited to attend the semi-finals and finals on Saturday and Sunday, with free entrance for all to enjoy watching some of the best players in the world compete.

With about one hundred players participating in this year’s Florida Sports Coast Open, both singles and doubles matches are taking place. The tournament is free for the public to attend and will continue through Sunday. Visitors have the opportunity to see world-class tennis players in action and experience the thrill of professional tennis competition up close and personal.
