Austin Head recently made headlines by breaking the Guinness World Record for the number of lunges done in an hour. He completed a total of 2,825 lunges along the Brooklyn waterfront in DUMBO. Head credits his success to listening to motivational videos and inspiring music by Tony Robbins, which helped him maintain the right mindset throughout the challenge. His mantra “I AM POWERFUL, I AM STRONG!” played a significant role in his achievement.
Despite his rigorous training schedule, Head continued to work as a trainer in Brooklyn, teaching almost 30 hours a week of exercise classes. He emphasized the importance of recovery and utilized various techniques such as weekly IVs, red light therapy, cold plunges, and stretch/massage sessions to keep his body in top condition. Head’s friends, family, and students from his classes supported him during his record-breaking attempt, cheering him on despite challenging weather conditions.
In addition to his personal accomplishment, Head also aimed to raise money for community athletic programs and green parks for NYC children to play in. His goal was to raise $3 per lunge, and ultimately, he raised an impressive $7,600 for the Life Time Foundation. This feat not only showcased Head’s physical strength and determination but also his commitment to supporting his community and giving back.
