The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Billy Kearse, a 71-year-old man who went missing on Tuesday morning. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and blue pants, walking along Ann’s Trail near Scruggs Trail in Gaffney around 10:00 a.m. Kearse was accompanied by a small Chihuahua dog and was headed out to go fishing when he disappeared.
Kearse has a tracheotomy and uses a voice box amplifier, as well as other health concerns, according to deputies. He is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, 130 pounds, with shoulder-length gray hair and a tattoo on his left upper arm that says “Jennie.”
Anyone with information about Kearse’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or the Cherokee 911 Center at 864-487-2747. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is working diligently to locate Kearse and ensure his safe return home.
