Autistic entrepreneur successfully grows pretzel business across multiple locations in Central Maryland

Marcus Moore, a man from Maryland, is proving that anything is possible for people with autism through his pretzel business. In celebration of Autism Acceptance Month, Moore is thrilled to see his pretzel brand, Moore Crunch, on the shelves at Fishpaws Marketplace in Arnold. This opportunity has brought him a lot of joy and fulfillment.

WBAL-TV 11 News first met Moore in March 2023, less than a year after he started his pretzel business. At 30 years old, Moore, who has autism, decided to start the business in order to grow and become self-sufficient. The business has not only allowed him to improve his social skills and overcome social anxiety, but it has also provided him with the opportunity to interact with more people and experience success.

Since 2023, Moore has made significant progress, moving from mixing his pretzels in a large bowl to working in a commercial kitchen. He has even introduced a new sour-cream-and-onion flavor and expanded his business to various retailers such as Eddies of Roland Park, Geresbeck’s Food Market, Graul’s Market, and Green Valley Marketplace. Moore Crunch pretzels can also be found in prominent places like The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Sinai Hospital, the National Aquarium, and Camden Yards.

As part of his “Crunch Crew Tour” during April, Moore is visiting different locations that sell his pretzels to meet new people and promote his brand. His mission is to inspire others with autism by showing them that anything is possible. He encourages everyone to not let others dictate what they can or cannot achieve, as there is always a way forward.

Moving forward, Moore aims to raise money to establish a bigger commercial kitchen and hire more staff. He is also passionate about giving back to children with autism, showing that his journey is not just about his own success, but about making a difference in the lives of others like him.
