In Season 3, Episode 2 of The Bear, Sydney’s partnership with Carmy in their restaurant is confirmed. It was previously assumed that Sydney would be an official partner, but in this episode, she learns that she will need to sign paperwork to make it official. Sydney is surprised by this revelation, as she was unsure of Carmy’s intentions last season when developing The Bear with him, Natalie, and Uncle Jimmy. She is always trying to decode Carmy’s actions and understand his true feelings.
Throughout the season, Sydney will continue to try to understand Carmy’s gestures and validate her partnership. The journey of deciphering Carmy’s intentions will be a significant part of the season for Sydney. Additionally, Ayo Edebiri, who plays Sydney, also steps into the director’s chair in Episode 6. She expressed how moved she was by the script and how touched she was that Chris Storer had her in mind to direct the episode.
