Ayo Edibiri, a star of the hit show “The Bear,” recently directed an episode of the show’s third season. She mentioned in an interview that she tried her best to maintain a positive attitude and treat others with respect while on set. Edibiri believes that having a good mood and acting decently towards others can have a positive impact on the workday.

Employees want to feel valued and appreciated at work, and Edibiri’s focus on bringing positive energy to the set reflects this desire. The actor, who has won prestigious awards for her role as chef Sydney Adamu on the show, turned to the show’s creator, Christopher Storer, for inspiration while directing the episode.

In the previous season, the show’s storyline focused on the transformation of The Original Beef of Chicagoland into an upscale restaurant named The Bear, leading to less cooking scenes. However, in the upcoming season, there will be a return to the functioning kitchen atmosphere that was present in the first season. Edibiri’s experience as a comedian, writer, producer, actor, and now director informed her approach to directing the episode.

Research from McKinsey in 2021 shows that feeling valued and appreciated is crucial for employee retention. A CEO’s investment in culture and employee development is essential for retaining talent in the organization. Additionally, behaving well at work can have positive effects outside of the workplace, such as improving sleep quality, according to a study published in the Journal of Applied Psychology in 2018.
