Barcelona winger Ferran Torres has put an end to speculations about a potential return to the Premier League this summer. Despite facing limited playing time last season, Torres is determined to stay with Barcelona for the upcoming season. The 24-year-old started just 12 league games last season due to the emergence of Lamine Yamal but managed to score 11 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.
With Barcelona facing economic issues, Torres has been rumored as a potential departure from the club, attracting interest from Premier League teams like Newcastle, Arsenal, and Chelsea. Torres previously played for Manchester City before joining Barcelona in a €55m deal in January 2022, where he scored 16 goals in 43 games.
After scoring the winning goal for Spain in their Euro 2024 group stage match against Albania, Torres has confirmed his commitment to staying with Barcelona next season. In an interview with RAC1, Torres stated, “I’ll be staying at Barcelona next season. It’s not that I just want to remain here, but rather that I’m going to stay.” Despite speculation surrounding his future, Torres seems set on continuing his career at Barcelona.
