Barrow’s hopes dashed as they miss out on play-offs and Wild is sacked

Barrow have made the decision to part ways with manager Pete Wild following a post-season review after narrowly missing out on a play-off place in the League Two season. Despite finishing in eighth place, the Bluebirds were winless in their final seven games, losing five times during that period. Wild, who had joined the club on a three-year deal in 2022 after managing Halifax in the National League, was unable to meet the club’s expectations moving forward.

During the review, it became clear that the club and Wild had differing perspectives on the future direction of the team, leading to a mutual decision to part ways. Barrow issued a statement expressing their well wishes for Wild in his future endeavors and announced that the rest of the management team would remain in place.

Wild had enjoyed a successful period earlier in the season, leading the club to seven consecutive wins in October and November. However, a dip in form towards the end of the campaign saw Barrow miss out on a top seven finish, ultimately losing out on a play-off spot to Crawley Town, who secured promotion.

Despite the disappointment of narrowly missing out on a play-off place, Barrow have decided to make a change at the managerial level in the hopes of moving the club in a new direction.
