The Love Heals Free Health Clinic took place on the Southern University Campus on Saturday, June 15, offering free services to all attendees without the need for identification, insurance, or registration. The event aimed to address the gaps in medical access for minority groups, including socioeconomic and racial disparities. Organizers emphasized the importance of identifying and addressing these issues to provide better healthcare for all.

At the clinic, attendees could receive free wellness checks, dental work, optometry services, and access to a pharmacy for necessary medications. Dental Director David Carter highlighted the importance of preventive care and education to help avoid more serious dental issues in the future. Additionally, the event provided resources for patients to follow up with primary care doctors and information on how to apply for and use Medicare and Medicaid.

The Love Heals Free Clinic also connected patients with community resources for ongoing care and support. By bringing in partners who offer services beyond the clinic’s scope, organizers hoped to provide attendees with long-term access to healthcare. Overall, the event aimed to not only provide immediate medical services but also to empower attendees to take control of their health and well-being for the future.

Future Love Heals Free Clinic events are scheduled at other locations, offering similar services and resources to support the health and wellness of the community. The clinic’s commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and providing access to quality care highlights the importance of community-driven initiatives in improving overall health outcomes for all individuals.
