Bethesda celebrated the 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls video game saga on Monday. The company seized the opportunity to confirm the progress of the new installment, The Elder Scrolls 6, which is still in development and has playable versions available.

The announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI was made at the E3 video game event in 2018, with a presentation trailer. However, details about the game’s development progress have been scarce in recent years. To mark the saga’s 30th anniversary, Bethesda shared a post on social media reflecting on the history of the game and providing some updates on the upcoming title.

While Bethesda has confirmed that they are working on the next chapter of the saga, they are still in the early stages of development. They expressed their excitement about returning to Tamriel and playing early versions of the game. However, specific details about the new story and release plans have not been revealed.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena, released in 1994, marked the beginning of the RPG and open-world gameplay that the series is known for. Over the years, Bethesda has continued to develop the franchise with titles like Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, which gained widespread acclaim upon its release in 2011.

In addition to the main series, Bethesda has also released spin-off titles such as The Elder Scrolls Online and The Elder Scrolls: Blades for mobile devices. The company is also working on projects like The Elder Scrolls: Castles, a castle-builder game for smartphones.

Bethesda expressed gratitude towards the players for their support over the past 30 years and looks forward to celebrating the next 30 years of The Elder Scrolls. The company’s commitment to the franchise remains strong as they continue to develop new and exciting experiences for fans.
