Biden’s debate performance stuns foreign diplomats

Many foreign diplomats were shocked and worried by Mr. Biden’s debate performance, where the US President seemed to let his opponent Donald Trump dominate. According to CNN, during the debate between US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, many European, Middle Eastern, and Asian diplomats expressed that Biden had a bad night. They described his performance as difficult to watch, as he spoke with a weak voice, seemed hesitant, and often stuttered. Some of his statements were confused and unclear, and he struggled to counter Trump effectively.

One European diplomat commented that it was sad to see Biden aging, and that what he said was hard to understand even for someone with good English skills. An Arab diplomat mentioned that Trump seemed to have “ate Biden alive,” and an Asian diplomat expressed shock and disbelief at Biden’s performance. A Polish diplomat even went as far as calling Biden’s performance a horror show.

The poor performance of Biden in the debate has raised concerns across Europe about the possibility of Trump returning to the White House and continuing his “America First” policies that have alarmed many European countries. Trump’s skepticism of NATO and questions about aid to Ukraine during the debate have also caused worry among US allies, as they are unsure of how their relationships with the US will be affected during a potential second term of Trump’s presidency. Ukrainian politicians, in particular, expressed concerns about the impact of Trump’s policies on their country.

Overall, the debate between Biden and Trump has sparked international interest and concern, with many diplomats and politicians closely watching the proceedings and analyzing the potential implications for their own countries.
