Bill Nye, known as the “Science Guy” for his humor and passion for science, is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced their new class of honorees, which includes individuals from various fields like motion pictures, recording, live theatre/live performance, radio, and sports entertainment.

Chairman Peter Roth expressed excitement over the selection of the honorees for the Class of 2025, stating that each individual embodies excellence in their respective fields. Nye will be receiving his star in the TV category alongside eight other honorees, including Prince (Posthumous), David Beckham, Keith Urban, Jessica Chastain, Jane Fonda, and Fran Drescher.

Nye’s journey began in Seattle after graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977. He started his career as an engineer at Boeing before transitioning into comedy, winning a Steve Martin look-alike contest and performing as a stand-up comic on Seattle’s “Almost Live” comedy show. This eventually led to the creation of his Emmy award-winning show, “Bill Nye the Science Guy”.

Aside from his television work, Nye has authored eight children’s books, been featured on the New York Times Bestsellers List, serves as CEO of the Planetary Society, and sits on the board of the Mount St. Helens Institute.

Nye will soon have his name among the many icons on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which attracts millions of visitors annually. An official date for his star ceremony has yet to be determined.
